28 January 2012 10:30 - CPR Vikings 13 v 2 Rushmoor Community Colts
	VIKINGS THROUGH TO CUP SEMI-FINAL The Vikings ran riot in their league cup qtr final beating Rushmoor Community Colts from Div 1 13-2. Having had another 3 week lay off due to the weather the Vikings were pleased to be back in action in their league cup qtr final against Rushmoor Community Colts. The Vikings started strongly with Ethan slotting home after 2 mins and Dan doubling the score a couple of minutes later. With the Vikings dominating possession and making full use of the space that Barney and Charlie were creating on the wings another quick brace followed with Ethan and Dan both grabing their second on 11 & 14 mins respectively. Ethan was on hand to finish off a fine move and complete his hat-trick on 17 mins with the Vikings totally in control. Rushmoor pulled one back a minute later when they breached the Vikings defence and their striker clipped the ball over the onrushing Jim. Ethan added to his tally on 23 mins and Thomas scored our seventh on the stroke of half time neatly controlling a ball on the edge of the box before lobbing the keeper. The lads were told to continue to play the impressive football they had produced in the first half and the duly oblidged. Rather than loose their shape hunting more goals the Vikings kept playing as a team and although Rushmoor pulled another goal back another brace followed with Barney and Thomas finding the net. Max showed his composure when he received a pass on the edge of the box and neatly slotted the ball wide of the keeper to mark an impressive game in midfield. Callum was rewarded for his hard work up front as he slotted home after 52 mins and further late goals from Dan and Ben wrapped up a good all round team performance. Well done fellas. 07 January 2012 11:30 - CPR Vikings 3 v 1 Hook Utd
	VIKINGS KICK OFF 2012 WITH A WIN Ater a 3 week lay off the Vikings returned to action with a home win against Hook Utd. The Vikings returned to business after the festive season with only 12 players available and with Callum a bit under the weather needed everyone to be in fine fettle. The Vikings enjoyed plenty of early possession but were up against a resolute Hook defence who defended well and denied the Vikings any real chances. They were also dangerous on the counter attack so it as well the Vikings back line remained organised. It took 21 mins for the Vikings to break the deadlock with a fine effort from Barney. Four minutes later the Vikings doubled their lead when Ethan was first to react to Ben's shot which was saved by the keeper to slot home. The Vikings were playing some really nice football but were asked to up the tempo at half time to inject a bit more pace to the attack. Although they continued to enjoy plenty of possession in the second half Hook were pushing forward more frequent and Jim was pleased to see a cracking shot from the edge of the box rattle the bar. This wasn't to be the case minutes later as this time Hook found the back of the net to pull one back. The Vikings pressed forward looking to restore their two goal advantage but saw a number of efforts go just wide. With five minutes to go Callum produced a tricky run into the box and was brought down by a Hook defender and the referee pointed to the spot. John stepped up to take responsibility only to see his kick saved by the Hook keeper. The referee however made John retake the kick due to defenders encroaching into the box and this time he made no mistake. The last five minutes were played out without any further goals and the ref blew for full time. A lads produced a good team performance considering the 3 week break and again showed their appettite to play some great passing football. 17 December 2011 10:00 - CPR Vikings 3 - 0 Junior Shots
	VIKINGS KEEP RARE CLEAN SHEET TO END YEAR ON A HIGH The Vikings ended the year on a high with a 3-0 win against Junior Shots. How seasonal could it have been as the Vikings turned up at Aldershot with snow falling and a touch of Bing Crosby on the radio !! With only a bare 11 players today everyone was in for a full game and it looked like being a merky old morning as the early arrivals gathered under the pavillion seeking shelter. However, just before kick off, the snow stopped and the sun appeared and the Vikings were ready to kick off on what was a quite heavy pitch. Jim was called in to action early on and made a great save from a corner before the Vikings settled into the game. In what was a fairly even first half no team managed to find the break through and the scores were level at half time. On a heavy pitch and with a heavy ball the Vikings were told to play simple football as they were guilty of giving the ball away needlessly in the first half. It was also a day to stand up and be counted as everyone had to play their part on a pitch that was digging up a bit down the middle. The Vikings duly obliged and dominated the second half playing some great football along the way. Ollie opened the scoring on 36 mins hitting a sweet left footed shot from the corner of the 18 yard box into the top left hand corner. Callum was enjoying a rare run out in midfield and was rewarded for his work rate as he scored our second on 45 mins after a fine ball from Dan which split the Shots defence. With the Vikings creating more decent chances Callum was on hand again to wrap up proceedings on 54 mins to score his second. The whistle blew and the Vikings had kept only their second clean sheet of the season of which was an attribute to Jim and all of our defenders today as they defended really well all game. Well done fellas, you definately stepped things up today in the second half as requested and produced a good all round team performance. 10 December 2011 11:00 - CPR Vikings 2-2 Shooters FC, 3-3 aet, 2-4 pens
	VIKINGS OUT OF COUNTY CUP ON PENS The Vikings went out of the Hampshire County Cup following an epic encounter against Shooters FC which ended up being decided on penalties. With a full squad of players available this week the Vikings were fired up for their Hampshire County Cup quarter final against the unknown opposition of Shooters FC who play in the U12 age group of the Testway Youth League. The Vikings started strongly enjoying plenty of possession and played some lovely football. The defence were looking strong and organised against a nippy striker who would be a threat if we allowed him the ball. The Vikings created a couple of half chances early on with Ben and Ethan going close but it was Thomas who opened the scoring on 20 mins with a fine header from Ollies corner. Jim was called on to make a couple of fine saves but the Vikings doubled their lead on 28 mins with Ollie shooting home from close range. With half time fast approaching and the game into first half stoppage time a long ball forward from the Shooters keeper was headed forward and their striker managed to get his toe to the ball first, despite a sliding tackle from Luke to tuck the ball home. The lads took a well earned breather at half time and were told to continue playing the attractive football that they have been accustomed to this season. The second half kicked off with the game closely matched with the Vikings looking for a third goal which would surely close the game out. They thought they had got their reward when Callum headed home a fine cross from Ben but the celebrations were cut short as the linesman flagged for offside. 5 minutes later more good possession from the Vikings resulted in them being awarded a penalty but a fine save from the Shooters keeper kept them in the game. Then with 10 mins left on the clock the Vikings were punished for not clearing their lines and their striker raced clear to slot the ball home to bring the scores level. This was how it stayed until full time so into extra time we went. The Vikings dominated the first half of extra time and were denied from taking the lead by the woodwork as a fine long range shot from Daniel rattled the bar. Into the second half and although the Vikings were still on top somehow found themselves going behind for the first time in the match when Shooters took a 3-2 lead. With time running out Jacob was sacrificed at the back with Callum sent on to join Ethan and Barney up front for the final five minutes and duly obliged by firing home a cross from Charlie to bring the scores level once more. The Vikings pushed forward again looking to find a winner but the full time whistle blew to take the tie to penalties. With the five appointed penalty takers finalised the crowd watched with baited breath, or those that could bare to watch did anyway to see the Vikings put a couple wide and Jim get so close to keeping a couple out but Shooters ran out 4-2 winners. A great performance again this week from every single player and although dissapointed with our cup exit can take great credit from the team performance which again produced some fine football. 03 December 2011 11:30 - CPR Vikings 5 - 4 Liphook Utd Wildcats
	VIKINGS HANG ON IN 9 GOAL THRILLER The Vikings progressed to the quarter finals of the League Cup with a 5-4 win against Liphook. With a couple of players unavailable for our 3rd Round cup match against Liphook meant a couple of players playing in unfamiliar positions. You would never have thought this was the case though a the Vikings took a 1st minute lead with Charlie finishing off a fine move by neatly slotting past the keeper. Following a solid start the lead was doubled on 8 mins when Ben ghosted down the right before seeing off three defenders and firing into the roof of the net. Three minutes later Ethan got on the score sheet with another fine strike and Callum made it 4-0 on 13 mins when he broke the offside trap to run onto a through ball and slot the ball home. Liphook created a couple of chances themselves but Jim's handling and awareness meant that the four goal advantage was intact at halftime. The coaches reflected on a solid first half performance where everyone contributed and the ball winning in the middle of the park was exceptional.We expected Liphook to change things around at halftime and they didn't fail to oblige. The Vikings kicked off the second half and started the same they started the first half with a goal within the first minute. Barney raced onto a throughball and neatly placed the ball into the far corner to make it five. Liphook were not intent on rolling over and within a minute had pulled one back and continued to enjoy more possession and territorial advantage. That wasn't content in their goal being a consolation and on 40 mins scored again to make it 5-2. The Vikings began to sit deeper and deeper and although they cleard their lines a long range shot rifled high into the net giving Jim no chance to make it 5-3. Some desperate defending was called for at times as Liphook had the momentum and when Dan had to come off following a clash of heads meant more changes needed in the middle of the park. The Vikings were still creating chances themselves but could not find the net to close out the game. Liphook were still pushing forward themselves and the home crowd became even more anxious as they score again on 53 mins to make it 5-4. The closing 5 mins were frantic as Liphook pushed for an equaliser but a couple of fine saves from Jim kept them at bay. The full time whistle blew to end a thrilling cup encouter against two sides who both gave it their all again today in producing a memorable match. Well done fellas, you all showed great character again today and put in a terriffic team performance. 26 November 2011 11:30 - CPR Vikings 3 - 1 Hawley Raiders
	VIKINGS RETURN TO WINNING WAYS The Vikings returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win against Hawley Raiders. The lads dusted themselves down after last weeks deafeat and started strongly against a well organised Hawley side who we were meeting in the league for the first time with Hawley having joined the NE Hants league this season. Some good possession joined with good territorial advantage paid off on 10 mins when the Vikings took the lead with a sweet shot from Sam on the edge of the box into the bottom left hand corner. Hawley bounced back and began creating a couple of chances themselves but nothing that bothered Jim to much in goal. On 21 mins however Hawley were awarded a free kick midway into the Vikings half and although the Vikings initially cleared their lines the ball was returned into the box and finished well by Hawley to bring the scores level. With the scores level at half time the lads to told to continue playing the way they were as they had played some really nice football in the first half. The lads obliged and were rewarded for this on 36 mins when Sam was on hand to score his second with another shot from the edge of the box. With the Vikings defending resolutely everytime Hawley threatened and looking good going forward they were looking the more likely to score the next goal. This was the case on 43 mins when Ethan was on hand to react to a loose ball with the Hawley box to turn and shoot past the keeper to increase our lead. More good football followed in the final quarter of the match but no more goals were added. The lads were solid today and really did produce a good all round team performance playing some nice football along the way. Well done fellas on another great performance. 19 November 2011 11:30 - Rushmoor Saints 3 - 0 CPR Vikings
	VIKINGS SIX GAME WINNING RUN COMES TO AN END. The Vikings six game winning run came to an end with a 3-0 defeat away to Rushmoor Saints. On a fairly heavy surface and full size pith the Vikings were given a lesson in football against a well disciplined and organised Rushmoor side who ran out 3-0 winners. Although the lads were competitive in all areas of the pitch it was the finer details that were missing today as the lads gave Rushmoor too much time and space to play the possession football they thrive to play. With the ball in the middle third of the pitch for most of the game it was a ding dong battle for most of the game but it was Rushmoor who were more decisive in front of goal scoring three of their five chances. The Vikings were punished on 17 mins when they failed to clear a corner and Rushmoor took the lead. Then with half time fast approaching the lead was doubled when a good passing move through midfield was placed into the bottom right hand corner. With the lads having come from 2-0 down twice in recent weeks they were not fazed and did produce a better second half performance but couldn't get the goal they needed to get back into the game. Then on 42 mins Rushmoor broke and delivered a fine cross into the box which was looped over Jims by an on rushing strikers head. The lads still rallied and fought to the end but still couldn't breach the Rushmoor defence before the full time whistle blew on a compelling game which the lads will certainly learn alot from. 12 November 2011 11:00 - Liphook v CPR Vikings
	2-0 DOWN, 5-2 UP, VIKINGS MARCH ON IN COUNTY CUP The Vikings progressed into the quarter finals of the Hampshire County Cup coming from 2-0 down to win 5-2. The Vikings travelled to Liphook for the second time in three weeks having been drawn away in the 3rd rnd of the Hampshire County Cup. If our previous meeting was anything to go by then everyone knew this would be a thrilling encounter as the Vikings had come from two down to win 3-2. The first half was a fairly even encounter although Liphook probably enjoyed slightly more territorial advantage but the Vikings defended well and when breached had Jim on hand to make a couple of fine saves. At the other end the Vikings created good chances and were denied taking the lead themselves with some good goal keeping and a goal line clearance that somehow stayed out. The half time whistle blew with the scores still 0-0 which was somewhat hard to believe as both teams had created good opportunities. The lads were encouraged just to keep their shape a little better in midfield and the second half began. With only 3 mins gone the deadlock was soon broken with Liphook creating the first chance of the half which their striker calmly slotted home. With the Vikings unfazed by going a goal down they attacked straight from kick off and won a corner but Liphook turned defence into attack and broke away to score their second on 35 mins. Having defended fairly well in the first half it was hard to believe we had conceded two early goals in the second half but having been in the same position against Liphook three weeks ago knew we could still turn things round. On 39 mins a through ball sent Callum on his way and he finsihed well into the far corner of the net to get the Vikings back in the game. On 44 mins the Vikings were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty box and Ollie stepped up to bring the scores level with a fine shot over the keeper. The lads were on fire now and a minute later Liphook were shell shocked as Ben went down the right wing beating his defender and gave us the lead with a fine strike. A minute later Ben carried out a repeat performance of his goal and the Vikings were suddenly 4-2 up. Callum scored his second of the game on 52 mins to wrap up the tie which was also a similar fate to his first having clearly run from an on-side postion. The full time whistle blew to end a fantastic game in which the Vikings showed their true character in never giving up along with a memorable second half performance. The determination and team spirit they showed along with the fine flowing football they played was a credit to all today. A superb classic cup encounter lads and a well earned victory. 05 November 2011 11:30 - CPR Vikings 4 - 1 Manor Colts Greens
	CPR Viking 4 - 1 Manor Colts Greens The Vikings had a rare fixture at Connaught and progressed into the 3rd round of the league cup with a 4-1 win over Manor Colts Greens. Having come off the back of two impressive league wins it was back to cup football again today as the Vikings welcomed Manor Colts Green of Div 2. Although two divisions lower the opposition were not taken lightly as the Vikings have experienced close cup games against lower league opposition in the past. The Vikings started strongly and were enjoying plenty of possession as well as teritorial advantage but were up against a resolute Manor Colts defence with a keeper whose handling was exceptional. With the Vikings not managing to break the deadlock after 15 mins Manor Colts produced their first attack on goal and took the lead when their striker had a one-on-one with Jim and slotted home. Having conceded the first goal over recent weeks the Vikings were not too fazed and continued to push forward looking for an equaliser. Ethan looked like he had done that on 22 mins when he scored with his first touch of the game having just come on but the flag went up and it was disallowed for offside. Two minutes later however there was no disputing the equaliser this time as Ethan raced onto a through ball and rocketed the ball into the top left hand corner.With the scores level at half time the lads were told to be patient and continue to play the attacking football they had enjoyed in the first half. On 40 mins the Vikings deservedly took the lead with a sweet strike from Ollie which sailed in from the the left flank and looped over the keeper just inside the far post. Sam scored a third on 47 mins having broke through on the right to receive a pass from Ethan who was judged to be offside. No flag went up and no whistle was blown as Sam slotted home, much to the dismay of the Manor crowd. Luke wrapped things up on 52 mins with him being first to react to loose ball as it dropped in the penalty box following a corner. Although not the prettiest of performances the Vikings progressed into the next round having faced a determined Manor Colts side who, if they play like that every week, should have an enjoyable remainder of the season. 29 October 2011 11:30 - CPR Vikings v Manor Colts
	CPR Vikings 5 - 2 Manor Colts The Vikings continued to be their charitable selves by gifting Manor Colts the lead in the second minute but didn't let this distract from producing another fine performance. The scores were level on 6 mins when Ethan was on hand to turn the ball home following a good move down the left. Manor Colts regained the lead on 13 mins when a cross into the box was well executed with a volley into the top corner which gave Jim no chance. Both sides failed to convert anymore chances in the first half so the Vikings trailed at half time in which was a fairly even contest. The Vikings however increased the tempo in the second half and on 33 mins Ben was first to react to a short clearance on the edge of the box to bring the scores level at 2-2. Some great football followed by the Vikings and they deservedly took the lead on 48 mins with Ethan scoring his second. The Vikings were looking solid from back to front with some excellent defending by the back four turning defence into attack each time Manor Colts pushed forward. With Sam slotting home our fourth on 57 mins with a shot into the bottom left hand corner the points were secured but the lads still pressed forward looking for more goals and Thomas rounded off a fine performance with a shot from 25 yards which dipped into the top right corner to make it 5-2. 22 October 2011 10:30 - Liphook Utd 2 - 3 CPR Vikings
	THE VIKINGS COME FROM 2-0 DOWN TO WIN 3-2 AT LIPHOOK The Vikings returned to league action for the first time in a month with an impressive 3-2 win over last years league champions Liphook. The Vikings travelled to Liphook knowing what to expect having had some great encouters over the last few years. The Vikings started well but went 0-1 down after 2 mins with Liphook scoring with their first attack. The lads rallied and continued playing some good football but got undone again on 19 mins when Liphook broke on the counter attack to score their second, 0-2. The Vikings couldn't believe they were two down having enjoyed the majority of possession in the opening 20 minutes. The pressure told on 26 mins when Dan was on hand to put the ball over the line following a couple of good reflect saves from Liphooks keeper. With half time fast approaching Callum followed up well to across from Giorgio to bring the scores level. It was a shame to hear the half time whistle as the lads really had the momentum going and Liphook were on the ropes. However a well earned rest and more of the same requested from the coaching staff and the lads were ready for the second half. The Vikings took the lead on 40 mins with Callums shot rebounding off the bar and Ethan was first to react to head home, 3-2. The Vikings continued to dominate possession and look the more dangerous in the second half but also defended really well as a team when Liphook attacked. The full time whistle went on what was a cracking game with the Vikings showing great team spirit to come back from two down to clinch a vital 3 points which they thoroughly deserved. 08 October 2011 11:30 - CPR Vikings 9 v 4 Crofton Saints
	CPR Vikings 9 v 4 Crofton Saints Lions The Vikings booked their place in the last 16 of the Hampshire County Cup with an impressive performance against a decent Crofton Saints side who had made the trip up from the southcoast. The Vikings new they were in for a tough encounter against Crofton Saints who are unbeaten in the top division of the Mid Solent league. This was more evident when Crofton took the lead after 2 mins. The Vikings however didn't flinch in going behind so early and rallied well and began creating chances themselves. They were rewarded on 9 mins when Charlie was first to react to a loose ball in the box to hit into the roof of the net. On 12 mins the Vikings failed to clear a high ball into the box although there was evidence of a push on Luke and were punished again as crofton score their second. The Vikings starting to enjoy the majority of possession after this and when they received a free-kick on the edge of the box Sam oblidged by making the scores level with a fine strike from 25 yards. With half time fast approaching Ethan raced on to a fine through ball to give the Vikings a deserved 3-2 lead at half time. The Vikings started the second half strongly with Barney heading home in the first minute and repeated the feat a few minutes later to make it 5-2. The Vikings were playing some fine football as well as being prolific in front of goal and it wasn't long before Ethan and Ben added to the tally. Crofton continued pushing forward when possible and were rewarded with 2 goals of their own on 45 mins and 55 mins respectively. However the Vikings finished strongly and added two more goals themselves through Callum and Daniel to round of a fine all round performance. 24 September 2011 11:00 - Finchampstead 4 v 2 CPR VIkings
	The Vikings suffered their first defeat of the season against against new boys Finchampstead. An under par first half performance by the Vikings resulted in them finding themselves 2-0 at half time although if not for some good saves by Jim and some misplaced shooting could easily have been more. With a wake up call at half time and a couple of changes, the Vikings however came out in the second half looking like a team that could still turn things around. The Vikings enjoyed more possession and began creating chances which were both missing in the first half. With it looking like it was only a matter of time before we got back in the game we were undone again at the back and gifted Finchampstead a third against the run of play. The Vikings kept composed and continued to pressure and managed to make it 3-1 on 46 mins when Daniel put a dangerous ball into the box which was scrambled over the line by Charlie and Callum although not sure who got the last touch. This lifted the lads and on 55 mins Sam hit a shot from the edge of the box which nestled into the bottom corner. The momentum was definately with the Vikings now and it looked like they were going to get an equaliser which their second half performance deserved but Finchampstead broke away again in the last minute to seal the game and make it 4-2. The lads showed good character in lifting their game in the second half but cannot afford to give any team in this division a two goal head start. 18 September 2011 11:30 - CPR Vikings 5 v 4 Wey Valley Warriors
	Vikings hang on to win 9 goal thriller in opening league game of the season. The Vikings kicked off their season with a fine win in a 9 goal thriller against a strong Wey Valley side. With 3 players unavailable this week left the Vikings with a bare 11 players and with Dan falling ill over night left the Vikings struggling to field 11 players. Dan did manage to get down for the kick off and what a fine start to the season it was. The Vikings kicked off and strung session of six passes together before Ethan slotted the ball home after 20 secs. A minute later a fine cross from the left found Dan in space in the box to make it 2-0. Wey Valley were knocked for six and it took then 10 minutes to gain any decent possession but once they did began putting the Vikings under pressure. This paid off on 14 mins when they pulled a goal back. A couple of fine saves from Jim maintained the Vikings lead and on 24 mins a through ball sent Ethan on his way and as he made contact with the ball in the penalty box, he was impeded by the keeper and the ref pointed to the spot. Sam stepped up to slot the ball to make it 3-1. Half time came and the arrival of Barney allowed Dan to have a breather. The Vikings looked composed in the second half and increased their lead on 34 mins when Sam scored his second and Ollie chipped the keeper on 40 mins to make it 5-1. 	The Vikings secured their place in the last 32 of the Hampshire County Cup with a 9-0 win at Stubbington. A trip to the coast meant a fairly early start for the Vikings who kicked off their season with a Hampshire County Cup tie away to Stubbington. The Vikings started strongly and took the lead after 3 mins when Ben skipped past the Stubbington defence to slot the ball home. The Vikings continued to dominate possession and further goals from Sam, Ethan (2), Ben and Daniel gave the Vikings a comfortable 6-0 lead at half time. The second half continued in similar fashion to the first although Stubbington did defend strongly with their keeper making a number of fantastic second half saves. Further goals from Ollie and Giorgio followed in the second half and Ethan completed his hat-trick with a neat header into the far corner to wrap up and solid all round performance from the Vikings. Our birthday boy Jim didn't put a foot wrong in goal all day and got his first and only touch of the game with 5 mins to go to huge cheers from the visiting supporters.
